Qonnections took place in Dallas, TX this year and of cource there were big Qlik announcements, big demonstrations, and a big appreciation party at the Dallas Cowboys world headquarters Frisco at The Star.

Infozone’s Business Intelligence Booth

What a conference! From kickoff to commencement, Qlik continues to solidify themselves as one of the fastest growing and dynamic ‘Data’ companies in the world. Lead with Data was the message and it was received loud and clear.

The Infozone focus this year was on Pharma Intelligence. We showcased our pharmaceutical industry expertise and award-winning dashboard design to the hundreds of companies and thousands of individuals in attendance. The common theme we heard from those who visited our booth was finding more comprehensive solutions to share information across all facets of the commercial organization while educating consumers.

One topic that garnered great interest was bringing powerful analytics to CRM solutions, allowing field sales one stop shopping for pre-call planning through the entire call cycle. Qlik has partnered with Veeva to help improve the limited MyInsights reporting that comes with the standard Veeva implementation. Talk about a great partnership for the Pharmaceutical Industry!

In my opinion, the best thing about Qonnections is the wealth of knowledge shared through breakout sessions led by industry experts. A favorite of mine was around data literacy, telling a story with data. Jordan Morrow, who led the session, is a brilliant speaker with a wealth of knowledge. His insights into the world of data were refreshing. In an industry where data is paramount, his message was timely and well received: If you are unable to clearly articulate your ideas to your audience, the data doesn’t really matter.

Qlik’s highlights

As a company Qlik has recognized that BI is only one piece of the data puzzle. With their recent acquisitions of Attunity and CrunchBot, Qlik continues to become a pioneer in data, analytics and AI…Lead with Data! With Qlik Insight Bot, you may begin to have discussions with your data. Insights at your fingertips through tools like Skype or TEAMS without ever opening a Qlik app. Pretty neat stuff.

As the week closed, we had the chance to listen to a great interview with Lindsey Vonn, a world class, Olympic medal winning US skier. She even won a cow in her illustrious career! Lindsey’s message of perseverance and determination resonated with the crowd. Her charity, The Lindsey Vonn Foundation, was gifted a $10k donation by Qlik. As a fellow philanthropist, this was my favorite part of the week and Lindsey was truly grateful for the generous donation.

We are already looking forward to next years’ Qonnections in Phoenix, AZ, see you there!
